I've always strived to get the image I wanted straight from the camera with only minimal adjustments in Photoshop afterwards. However in 2015 I came across a guy called Sebastian Michaels, who was producing and teaching the art of building composites. He'd start with a base image and then build it up by adding other images, textures and effects. The end result was a multi-layered image that was quite often barely recognisable form the original.

I decided that I wanted to learn how to create my own and signed up for one of Sebastian's online courses and you can see some of my favourites in the slideshow below.
